Driving through ELA.

While driving through ELA these two scenes stood out to me this day. First the fruit vendor in front of this very old sears building. Secondly was this shoe shine fellow...I for one am a regular buyer from the fruit vendors. I love and respect what they do for a living.

Anti Government march downtown L.A. 3 27 10

No words for now :)

Anti Government march Hollywood 3 20 10

I often go to these marches and one thing I have learned to really appreciate, is the dedication these people have to what they believe....On this day it was anti war. My own belief has really changed as well. I believe it is time to and has been time to pull out and lick our wounds. I hate reading of all the soldiers who have been killed..If the politicians want to war, then they need to step into the ring and battle it among themselves...

Driving through lincoln heights

I will tell you what. Through out L.A. many of the buildings share a theme. Lots of color and usually religious paintings. Another truth is that through out L.A. You will find some of the friendliest business owners you will ever find anyplace.

Drving through El Sereno L.A.

While driving through El Sereno in Los Angeles, these two structures stood out me.....For some reason, these ruddy street scenes are very appealing to me. :)

Ice cream

Often times I will take my kids for a walk for some ice cream at the Thrifty drug store. Best priced and best tasting. On this day I took my two youngest daughters, my son and my grandson. My three kids help in taking care of Adam.. :)

My daughter Elizabeth with her K1000 film camera...She has talked me into a dark room in her room. She has a pretty large bedroom with two closets. They are big enough to walk in...So one is gone...

Going back in time.

Hi folks. When I saw this car in the parking lot, I could not resist shooting it. Even though I never owned one of these, the black primer, beat down look of it reminded me of my high school days..This was very much a popular look back them... :)

Walking Old Town Pasadena continued

Continuing my walk to Samy's in Pasadena, these where two more scenes I saw.

Walking Old Town Pasadena

One of my usual routines when I go places like the Bank, dept stores, or in this case Samy's camera, is to park a few blocks away and walk there. It serves two purposes. first, I get to walk a little and exercise and most importantly, a photo opp may just show up. This is not often the case, but in this day, I got a few snaps off...
There always seems to be something happening at the train station...Here this Lovely couple stood out to me as they where waiting for the train and I am sure hoping it would never come..

Driving through Echo Park

As I was driving through Echo Park in Los Angeles, I noticed this abandoned gas station. It was only a few months ago that it was full of life and now it is dead...What a shame...

The Holga images are in

Hi Folks. As I wrote a week or so ago about the Holga 120N toy camera I bought, I finally got the first images back....

My boy Daniel and friend Rick exploring before they got kicked out.

Malibu beach, over looking the pier.

The same basic shot as above but hitting the shutter release lever twice creating a double exposer on the same frame....

The remnants of  one of the many fires in Malibu, home of the very rich and famous. That is the Getty house in the back ground....

My boy Daniel playing in the sand :)

The film used was Ilford medium format XP-2 with pp work done at Samys shot with the Holga toy cam.

Drive through Vernon in L.A.

As I was driving through the city of Vernon in L.A., I saw this house. What stood out to me is the alter to Mary and the setting in general. The bikes, graffiti and steel doors...The life that is shown in general. I found myself staring at it and remembered to shoot it. Which by the way. In this part of town, one must be careful what he / she points the camera at or you will get something pointed back and it will not be a Camera. :)
