Anti NAZI rally in Los Angeles

Neo-Nazis, Counter-Protestors Face Off In Downtown

Hi Folks.
As some of you know I went to this Rally today and it did get crazy. I captured a few good NAZI beat downs and some other stuff.
Anyway, the shooting conditions where terrible. Harsh shadows, harsh light. So These where more of an experiment. I set the DR to 200% which from my understanding decreases the highlights by about a stop I then set the ISO to 3200 to try and decrease shadow noise and exposed way right. All n all, I was pretty pleased by these results. I only took a few at 3200, but learned enough to try more experiments next time...

So these are all ISO 3200 with In camera PP (all exif is there) and cropping and resizing for composition is in CS3. No other pp done. There is still some shadow noise, but really not to bad.

Driving through boyle heights

Driving through ELA on Soto st. Personally, I really love this area. It has to be the people. While crime is out of control here by a few cowards, the majority of the people here are very decent.

An image that broke my heart

While going to my mother in laws church this past Sunday, we came across this house. The first thing I noticed where all the weeds, then the fore-closer sign...I bet the house has been empty for a while. I can't help but think that even if the folks who lived there could not keep up the payments, they could have stayed there and at least there would be some life.

Union station Los Angeles

Underneath Union station there is another world down there. I need to explore this area quite a bit. More pics to come as I get a chance to dig :)

Driving through City Terrace in L.A.

I saw this fellow on the sidewalk with a Laptop and the scene simply looked to good to pass up. While the quality of the image is lousy, I still liked the capture...

Walking the mission road bone yards

Well, I am not sure what this little part of L.A. is called. This I know. It is on the out skirts of Lincoln park , but not quite Puebla.  None the less, this 1 mile stretch is all about salvage yards. This little stretch specializes in auto glass. It is interesting to see how many of these yards position people out front with flags waving people in. Some places even place ''ladies'' out front waving people in...So funny.

Driving through Lincoln park

I saw this very interesting building while On my way to downtown L.A.
What struck me was the ATM under the beer sign sticking out of what was a house...
