Ice cream at an old landmark

There is a very old ice cream joint in ELA that my wife and I have been going to for about 30 years or so. It is in a run down, gang infested part of town, yet we still drive down there for the Ice cream. :)

Meet Birdman

This fellow is a mute. He had his tongue cut off. I have gotten to know him over the years and I call him the bird man. I call him this because with the money he collects he buys bread to feed the birds. He is greatly misunderstood, but he is my friend

Meet Joe

Joe is a diabetic who sits in the corner giving out candy all day long.

What I saw on a short walk on Broadway, Los Angeles

This is a very fascinating place. While much of it is the same in, day in and day out, it is just different enough daily to see new things. :)

Hollywood walk of fame celebrates 50 years

Hollywood will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Walk of Fame on Sunday with a party. The festival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will include free movie screenings and performances and tours of area studios and theaters.
The Walk of Fame was conceived in the 1950s by business leaders in Hollywood as a way to beautify the historic core. The first star was set on March 28, 1960.
Since then, the attraction has proved a perennial draw for tourists eager for a taste of Hollywood.  An estimated 10 million people visit the 18-block stretch each year.

Hollywood will be 50 years old Sunday

I was hearing in the news this morning that Hollywood will be 50 years old this Sunday. I will need to check that as I thought it was older. None the less I will be there this weekend covering the activities. Lots of unique pics coming soon.

Venice beach, Los Angeles part 5 final :)

Well, this was pretty much the last of the Velvia film I shot this day. I started out the day with few people on the boardwalk, to a very normal busy afternoon. Not sure if I will continue to use this film as it is quite expensive and not sure worth it. The colors are a little crazy for me, yet others like them. Anyway. Thanks for looking and God bless you.

Venice beach, Los Angeles

Hi folks. Two weeks ago, I decided to get up early and head to Venice beach. I had not been their all year and had a Roll of Velvia 50 slide film itching to be used. So I loaded up my ME SUPER along with a 28mm lens and I was off to the beach. I will admit to have a love hate relationship with this film and its look. I had the film processed and scanned at Samys' the pro shop in Pasadena. Over the next few days I will post up the Venice beach images....
